Flights cancelled? This is why! by Spartacus
Flights to Miami and Washington, scheduled for the 1st and 2nd of February, cancelled by British Airways. All major european airlines on higher alert.
It seems that suddenly something or somebody has triggered a state of alert, which is having a domino effect on transatlantic flights.
Nobody is telling you what this threat might be, but, if you read carefully and keep an eye on what is said and printed, you may catch a glimpse of the present threat.
Few weeks ago, I came across a report, which appeared in one of my favourite websites: the Debka's file, usually very well informed and accurate.
This is what I read:

The banner headline spread across the front page of Il Giornale, the respected Milan daily reads:
“Al Qaeda: We will destroy New York within 35 days. Threat on the Internet. Countdown begins.”
The threat was contained in a video clip featured on a web site associated with the fundamentalist terror group. It announced al Qaeda plans to destroy New York in a nuclear blast on February 2. Il Giornale claims the FBI blocked and removed the web site.
The video clip showed three possible scenarios: 1. A bomb or giant fireball from the skies that will cover the metropolis with a radioactive cloud. 2. A storm of radioactive clouds that will topple skyscrapers one by one, along with the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge. 3. An explosion on board a charter aircraft that will cause a radioactive cloud to spread over the city.
The video clip was accompanied by large, red-lettered Arabic captions saying: “If God wills it, the end of America is near.”
DEBKAfile’s counter-terrorism sources say they cannot verify the authorship or gauge the seriousness of the threat because the Internet site is no longer accessible. But the report appeared in a newspaper widely viewed as the flagship of Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi. Such reports - even if not authenticated - tend to contribute to the mounting sense of alarm generated by “Orange Alert” in America and other Western countries. It comes against the backdrop of appeals to New Year revelers to stay away from the traditional New Year’s Eve celebrations in Times Square, Rome’s St. Peter’s Square, Moscow’s Red Square and London’s Trafalgar Square – or even Disney World and the Las Vegas Strip. All these sites are surrounded by heavy security.

I would gain control of the most powerful nation in the world;
I would delude their minds into thinking that they had come from man's effort, instead of God's blessings;
I would promote an attitude of loving things and using people, instead of the other way around;

I would convince people that character is not an issue when it comes to leadership;
I would make it legal to take the life of unborn babies;
I would make it socially acceptable to take one's own life, and invent machines to make it convenient;
I would cheapen human life as much as possible so that life of animals are valued more than human beings;
I would take God out of the schools, where even the mention of His name was grounds for a lawsuit;
I would come up with drugs that sedate the mind and target the young, and I would get sports heroes to advertise them;
I would get control of the media, so that every night I could pollute the minds of every family member for my agenda;
I would attack then family, the backbone of any nation.
I would make divorce acceptable and easy, even fashionable.
If the family crumbles, so does the nation;
I would compel people to express their most depraved fantasies on canvas and movies screens, and I would call it art;
I would convince the world that people are born homosexuals, and that their lifestyles should be accepted and marveled;
I would convince the people that right and wrong are determined by a few who call themselves authorities and refer to their agendas as politically correct;
I would persuade people that the church is irrelevant and out of date, the Bible is for the naive;
I would dull the minds of Christians, and make them believe that prayer is not important, and that faithfulness and obedience are optional;
I GUESS I WOULD LEAVE THINGS PRETTY MUCH THE WAY THEY ARE!

A new Austrian Empire, Mr Bossi? by Spartacus
In Italy today the biggest threat to the unity of the Country is represented by the leader of the Northern League (Lega Nord), Mr. Umberto Bossi! The manners he uses to bullying Parliament (his party is one of Mr. Berlusconi's allies) are quite folkloristic, but his threat of withdrawing from the government is now real and quite possible. If, by this coming thursday, the Italian Senate will not approve his proposal for devolution from centralised, "roman" control, it will be quite likely that Mr. Berlusconi will lose his strongest supporter and ally by monday!
The creation of what Mr Bossi calls "interregional parliaments", which undoubtedly will reduce Roman centralised control on the rest of the Country, will once again benefit the rich North, leaving the South, and the rest of Italy, in virtual anarchy!
Cardinal Ruini, president of C.E.I. (Conferenza Episcopale Italiana) warned yesterday Mr. Bossi against any attempt of secession, or disruption of the unity of Italy.
What the Vatican and the majority of the Italian intelligentsia are failing to see is much more serious than the creation of a federal Italy!
The ultimate goal of Mr. Bossi, in my humble opinion, is the creation of a macroregion which, in the near future, will include the whole of the north-eastern italian regions, and the so much loved Tyrol of Mr. Haider, with whom the Northern League shares more than just the Alps! (to be continued)

The last few days of Freedom! by Spartacus
"They could enter into your office, open drawers, cupboards and archives. They could delve into computers, checking emails one by one, see your telephone records, and also confiscate documents and files or demand a copy... "
This is the beginning of an article which appeared today in La Repubblica, one of the country's major newspapers, entitled: "Interceptions, emails and superfines".
This is the "new supervision", as Sig. Giulio Tremonti, the italian Economy minister, likes to call it. The duties of the new 007s are contained in the EU directives on "market abuse". The 45 articles which make up the text are now ready to become law, and therefore operational, by next friday!
What's the rationale behind this blatant infringment of civil rights by the EU? It's main goal is to safeguard the european savers!
I dont know about other european countries, but there are very few savers at present in Italy, where unemployment is running high, popular discontent is on every face you see, and poverty, unknown a decade ago to the middle class, is eroding the last old liras hidden away for a rainy day.
Today, Eugenio Scalfari, editorialist of "La Repubblica", writes: "Saving has practically disappeared from our economy, swallowed by inflation, by the fall of buying power, by cuts in social services, by precarious employment and by the growth of large bands of poverty and insecurity".
The EU, and few other "civilized countries" of the western world, is creating wealth as never before for the wealthy few and poverty as never before for the great majority of people.
This situation is becoming unsustainable and whilst until now they have left the working class hopelessly poor, now the aim is to reduce, legally, people's civil rights and institutionalize "slavery"! Slavery exists where poverty and lack of freedom coexist!
If this is the beginning of the new EU..to hell with it!!

I came back to this world, with God's permission (but I won't tell you which god) to check the status of the country I tried to liberate 2032 years ago: the Italian peninsula.
We escaped from Capua to seek freedom for us and the great majority of people, enslaved by the power of the rich! We were only twenty, but in a matter of a few weeks our ranks swelled to 20.000!
Wherever we went, we brought the good news: freedom was at hand! Slaves who never had time for hope finally had something to live for. A new world was disclosing in front of their very eyes.
But the power of the rich, of the oligarchs, finally overcame man's most fundamental right: the entitlement to freedom.
"Where are you going, Spartacus?", said the Almighty. "There's no point in going back to earth. Nothing ever changes, and, after what you suffered, you will be very disappointed! The world is in such a state that I'm really thinking to finish it for good! And that country you love so much, Italy...well..it's still the same! Same oligarchy still in place. The rich gets richer, the poor poorer. The streets are full of unemployed people, and even the middle class, which once upon a time was the strenght of the country, is struggling to make ends meet. But, my son, I won't stop you. Go and see for yourself. And leave behind your trident and the net! You won't come face to face with the enemy this time; they finish you off from afar."
